Even though we can't be together in person right now, I'd still like to make music with you! This summer we'll be on Zoom weekly to make music with the children.
Our Early Childhood music classes (ages 6 months to 5 years) give parents and caregivers the tools they need to help their infants and toddlers explore a variety of environments and experiences through music. We approach music as a medium for play and exploration. Our music activities stimulate the senses and involve the children at many levels providing lots of opportunity to enhance language, social, and cognitive development
American Sign Language instruction is available as part of the music classes for those who are interested.
In each class the children and their loved one will use instruments, singing, movement, baby sign language and books to explore their world and play together through music. New songs and activities are continuously added so the classes are never exactly the same from session to session. During in-person classes, instruments are provided by Summit Music Therapy. For online classes an instrument pack is available for purchase but is not required. Children may use plastic bowls, blankets, pencils, spoons or anything else the can think of to make music. Once registered, you have the flexibility to attend any class time you need to accommodate illness and schedule changes. Plus, during Zoom classes a pre-recorded version of the class is emailed by Wednesday of each week. Please register for EACH WEEK separately. REGISTER BELOW.
Throughout the year we offer opportunities for children to make music with their "grand-friends" at local long term care homes. The classes are structured much like our music classes but with opportunities built in for the children and older adults to interact.
Preschoolers and Older Adults can expect:
· Movement and dance
· Instrument playing
· Social Interaction
· Emotional Support
The goal of the classes is to meet the holistic needs of the children and the older adults through fun and engaging programming.
